I Love Watching Birds Of Prey

Where I live there are two common birds of prey. This morning as I was walking a buzzard flew from a tree by the side of the road just in front of me. It was so close. Usually they like to sit on fence posts. I have no idea what it was doing in a tree! But they are so big. I’m sure only eagles are bigger. Yet their call is like a kitten miaowing. The other one is red kites. They are so beautiful and so elegant. And so colourful. They are around all the time.

Lat December I was working near Oxford, in the sky I saw a strange(to me) bird gliding on the breeze, then I saw another and then another, there must have been about 6 of them. As they circled I could see the forked tail and reddish plumage, then someone told me what they were. From then I saw many gliding birds, Red Kites, apparently reintroduced to the area.
Lat week I saw a photo of the same, a photo taken in Wales, was that near you?

@LilirWyddfa Of course, the "Scarlets", who would not appreciate their squad.
During my playing days our team was half Welsh teachers, in the 5 nations (as it was then) we would sit on opposite sides of the club house to watch Wales play England. Fantastic days, long too long. ago.
@Uncfred my uncle played for Scarlets and for Wales and my cousins Brynmor Williams and Lloyd Williams.
For Wales my cousins. Not Scarlets.

What a legacy, such achievements within your family, and here you are representing Wales again. Something to feel pride about, and I know from my humble contribution to Rugby, how hard it is to achieve that level.
You played for Wales? @Uncfred

@LilirWyddfa Ha ha, no. I am English and was never at that level.
