It was so hot that both my bird ponds were dry when I checked this evening! 😱☹️

And I’ve noticed that the cardinal bird calls me asking me to fill up the birdseeds stand.

If I ignore, he keeps on singing for as long as it takes! 😝😄

Too cute tbh 🥰

The Cardinal (Cardinalis cardinalis) bird is the state bird of North Carolina btw.

Brave bird, Cardinals (especially males) are extremely scared of humans and get out of there ASAP....

But sounds like he's got you trained ;)

Cardinals are state birds of a number of states... here's a state bird map.
@Viper wow!! That is awesome although I wonder why the states didn’t choose a unique bird? 🤔

@Vivaci probably because they just wanted the most common bird that stood out in their state, so they could say whenever you see one, think of us, to the people of their own state.

Also looking at state animals, there sure are a lot of deer, bear and horses (mainly in the north east), some bison.

Also, looks like Cardinal is the state animal of Indiana.
Ohhhhh… interesting! I wonder if the yak is a state animal!? ☺️@Viper

@Vivaci Sorry, no Yak nor Ox :(
You like Yaks?
