It was so hot that both my bird ponds were dry when I checked this evening! 😱☹️

And I’ve noticed that the cardinal bird calls me asking me to fill up the birdseeds stand.

If I ignore, he keeps on singing for as long as it takes! 😝😄

The Cardinal (Cardinalis cardinalis) bird is the state bird of North Carolina btw.

Had 2 female and 1 male Cardinal in my yard tonight, which I thought was interesting. I think one was a senior and the other a fledgling and the Male was feeding the fledgling - very cute.

They are always the night birds...last ones to go to sleep...

@Vivaci No detail like your shot - The males are certainly colorful and get all the attention, but I think the females are also cute with their orange beaks!

I'm also always amazed at all the interspecies cooperation going on - today a cat was coming and a chipmunk and catbird gave out a warning alert for 5 minutes before the cat showed up...the cat could care less, walked right through my yard...stopped and looked at me...I said "may I help you?" he turned away snobbishly and kept walking! 😂

They truly have an amazing camaraderie between them. I was watching this bird show on Britbox, and in that they captured how different species of birds helped the finches family feed their lil ones….🥺 Can you believe that? 💕
