If you want a bird and you're a responsible parental figure, I would highly recommend adopting a hand-raised pigeon

They are so affectionate, sweet, gentle and quiet 💙

I can honestly say I've never heard or thought of people having pet pigeons.
caccoon · 36-40
@ineedadrink we domesticated them so long ago, and they do really well with us

They are sooooo sweet and affectionate if you learn how to slow down with them

wait wait. why there's a second one in the back. OH! Now I realise. Piglet is the other one. THEN WHO IS THAT?!!
caccoon · 36-40
@Boeing Ember ☺

@caccoon Makes sense, she looks like it!
Piglet realized he doesn't stand a chance with either of you and just walked away? 😅

@NerdyPotato "They aren't gonna pet me so I'm gonna LEAVE!"

Can you potty train them?
caccoon · 36-40
@SkeetSkeet apparently you can, or get them pants. I am going to get pants for her
SkeetSkeet · 100+, F
@caccoon pants would be so cute!
caccoon · 36-40
@SkeetSkeet yes!! It's really funny hahaha. I will get her several pairs so she can choose 💅🏼

Do they poop everywhere though or have we trained them not to? Had a friend who was really into birds never got the chance to ask
caccoon · 36-40
@empanadas apparently you can! I will look into it. I am going to get pants for her.

They tend to stay in certain places so I put paper down, and then change it daily. They do occasionally poop around but these guys are granivores so it's not so bad. Very easy to clean ☺
