I's tough seeing them panicked that way, and good to hear he got out safely.
I had a similar experience yesterday, with a baby bunny on my currently not so screened in back porch. I couldn't just sit there quietly, though, since my neighbor's cat was there...too.

@robingoodfellow I really, really hope so. He or she didn't appear to be injured, and did finally dart out the opened screen door and back to and under the back fence. Getting to that point didn't go well so well, though, and the little one was frantically trying to get out by jumping at places it could not get out of.
I had also at that point terrified my neighbor's cat, who I've grown very fond of. I was worried he would no longer seek refuge on my porch, or trust me.
