atoms in our human body are replaced every 5-7 years

98% of all atoms are replaced after just one year. To me this begs the question of is our memories and character stored somewhere else within us?

Information is not stored at an atomic one by one level.
Even biological entities with a bigger aggregation (molecular, celular) are replaced with time.
Some other ones takes the function.

@ElRengo could it be a transfer of information as new atoms replace old? Or is the information held deep in our conscious which is not part of our physical self's?

Don´t seem to be the case of one alternative or the other.
There is nothing like information without some kind physical support.
And neither each single "symbol" carries the complete information by itself.
Moreover it may have no intrinsic information than it´s identity, only meaningfull in some kind of "place" / interaction with others AND some enviroment / frame.

But let´s use a very rough example.

The "t" in the "transfer" word of your post means only "t".
Needed for the word, not enough for it.

If (like I did) take the letter string "ranfer" copied (so the same) from that word you posted, it´s still not enough to say "transfer".
So I may add my own "t", not physically the same as yours, as a replacement of the absent one.

Now and again, it says "transfer", same meaning with a replaced "t".

There is another less forced one.
