"All is well in the Kingdom..." I said
To my workmates this morning, alluding to the fact that the regular pace of business had been kicking our asses all this year. Except today I finally felt a bit of optimism
Wouldn't you know it, the power gets knocked out by 30 mph winds. We finish the orders, not taking anymore and everyone cleans up in the dark for a few more hours. The promise of an early day off seems nice, except I'm still fighting the wind for 3.5 miles with only a bicycle.
This seems like a funny superstition in restaurant business. that you never comment whether the work that day is calm, or else the universe will give you chaos.
