I'm a sucker for niche shows on spooky things. I watched a show called 'Darker Passages' on TubiTV a few years back and loved to laugh at one of the characters. I've seen some other videos with the same character and recently watched some of a show called 'Spectral Shadows'. I caught the last half of it on a OTT broadcast on my Roku. I did search and it doesn't seem available to stream anywhere right now. I don't think...but that's not the point.
The character of Emmett Connery is the character in question. He is hilarious, and I think he sometimes seems crazy. I actually love his character and think it adds a bit of a laugh to what are sometimes scary subjects. He is so eccentric and looks like he has lost his meds...but I love watching it so much.
For context, the show is about the paranormal and stuff and is pretty serious. The other characters are all mostly normal. The bit that I caught on my Roku from the new show he felt even more crazy.
Here is my question. Watching a show like that do most people feel that every guest speaker should be normal? Or does having a slightly crazy speaker add something cool or believable to a show that deals with unknown mysteries? I think I may be the oddball because I like the style and like that he is included alongside more normal speakers. And, I should add, he's not the comedy relief or anything like that and he seems really smart. Emmett Connery just feels like a very hyperactive person.
