A question for believers.

For those who believe in the supernatural, an afterlife, etc, etc - what was the single moment you went from a skeptic, or on the fence to a full fledged believer? Or was there one single moment?

I know, I know, there are a lot of non believers out there - hell, I'm probably one of them most of the time. But this question is for believers only - which makes sense because if you don't believe you couldn't answer this question anyway.

I think most people are so afraid of dying they will believe anything that will save them.
@hunkalove After my ob/nde just before I turned three in 1973, death itself doesn't scare me, but how I die does

@NativePortlander1970 As Naked Gun's Lt. Drebbin said, "Having my nuts bit off by a Laplander! That's how I wanna go!"

@hunkalove Hence the creation of an afterlife which exists in all religions.

@Ynotisay And an Eternity in Hell if you don’t give the people in charge your money and let them tell you what to do so they don't have to work for a living.

@hunkalove It's pretty maniacal. Holding up eternity in a burning caldron of fire if you don't acquiesce is some twisted stuff. Nothing that a little tithing can't take care of though.

@Ynotisay I have read in several places that rebirth/reincarnation was removed from the Bible because the Church couldn't figure out how to profit from it. Having your family pay to get you out of Hell worked much better.

@hunkalove I've never heard that but it does make absolute sense. Reincarnation was invented well before the bible and since they were picking and choosing what to include I guess they saw the downside to it.

@Ynotisay it was in 543AD and the Roman emperor Justinian I changed it. And you could be put to death for saying you believed in Reincarnation.

@hunkalove Interesting. Thanks for that. Guess they didn't want people coming back. Better to keep them all under one cloudy roof. It's a more exclusive club.
