if there is higher intelligence and extraterrestrials, why do they let bad things happen to people
how can they watch and allow bad things to happen to people in the world? i have often wondered this.

It's kind of like how humans keep their distance from wildlife. We know that bad things happen to animals by other animals but it's because of their own nature and if we try to help them, they will just attack us or run away. There really is no practical way to help.
In our particular case, at least where I live, we also actively harm them by building shitty infrastructure that encroaches on their home and really doesn't help anyone anyway, so what's the point, we just like to cover things in concrete.
