I think it was the Saturday night live show that had a character called Pat.
The whole skit was people trying to figure out if pat was male or female.
So I have decided everyone who cant figure it out is just Pat.

@Adrift I hated that one because my narcissistic sister would imitate the voice when she said my name. She thought it was amusing to belittle others including me.

@cherokeepatti Oh no that sucks.
Well I have always found that those who belittle others have alot to fear about themselves.
Narcissists are basically insecure people themselves and if you found something about them to pick and poke about their world would unravel.

@Adrift She had never given me a birthday gift ( I never expected one either ) but she went out of her way on my 30th birthday to drive over with a gift and a card. The gift was a coffee cup and both it and the card made jibes about me getting old. She was only a 18 months younger than me. 😂 The first time she saw a gray hair was right after I had a baby at the age of 24. She was with me at a dime store and looked at me and said in a very loud voice “Oh you are already gettin gray hairs!!” I knew she was trying to embarrass me. And didn’t say much except it happened during pregnancy. I didn’t get another gray hair till I was nearly 50 and not much then either. Meanwhile, before her 30th birthday she had a crisis and got a new haircut (short) and started dressing differently and making sassy remarks kind of flirting with men. Then I found out she had tried to have an affair with her rural neighbor, called him over to the fence and said it. It wasn’t the first time either. The man was her husband’s very best friend. He bought a pocket tape recorder and recorded her that last time and took it over to her husband to show him when he got home. Then her husband forced her to go to therapy about it and a lot of things came out. He forgave her but watched her like a hawk and eventually she had a breakdown. We took her to the psychologist she had seen to get a referral for hospitalization. And took her right to the center in the middle of the night.

@cherokeepatti Wow! She sounds like a real gem.
One thing about narcissists is they can't deal with themselves getting older.
They always project their insecurities onto someone else.

@Adrift Took me time to figure that one out. But she is sadistic when she does this to others. She was smirking and practically crapping herself with joy after she handed me those things.

@cherokeepatti The best answer I could come up with on this would be not to give them the reaction they were looking for.
I had one of those situations once where I received an obviously cheap and thoughtless gift ment as a devaluation. I just simply said oh ok thank you and put it aside only to throw it in the dumpster later. Thinking they spent time and money just to have their efforts end up in the landfill. They should have just taken the cash out of the ATM and threw it out the car window. Lol.

@Adrift i didn’t give her a reaction either. I gave that cup away and didn’t keep it or the card. She came over to my apartment a couple years later with a chimpanzee statue and said it was a birthday gift for my daughter, who was in grade school, because the “buck teeth” reminded her of my daughter’s teeth. My daughter did not have buck teeth, she had spaces for growth between her teeth and none were overcrowded. Those spaces filled in as she got more teeth and her teeth looked perfect, she didn’t need braces either. My sister had never come over to give a birthday gift to my daughter like that before. She seemed to want to weaponize gifts for a sadistic reason. I didn’t react that time either. Seems to piss her off because when I don’t react to something I know she is doing for a reaction she’ll change her body language and start gritting her teeth. 😂

@cherokeepatti Boy, how did manage to not punch her in the face when she did that? When it comes to the kids, that is when My mother bear really come out.
I had a bit of pettiness come out in me with my sons toxic ex. I photshoped her out of all the family pictures and reposted them on Instagram so she would see them. Then i found out later other people were doing the same thing. She ended up blocking everyone.

@Adrift she’d squeal like a little pig for a lot less than that. If I
I stood up to her and didn’t let her manipulate me into doing something for her she would make up lies to make me look bad to family. If they believed it they were damn gullible. They are all stopped going round her for over a year, last couple years she had no car and moved and not one offered to help. Can only imagine what set them off like that.
