Dante's La Divina Commedia
When Dante enters the vestibule of hell by going through the gate of Hell, he notices that it bears an inscription ending with the phrase "Lasciate ogne speranza, voi ch'intrate", most frequently translated as "Abandon all hope, ye who enter here".
This morning I'm pondering upon life again. Do you know that there's a biblical lifespan of 70 years old (Psalm 89:10 in the Vulgate; numbered as Psalm 90:10 in the King James Bible)? I'm now approching my last dozen years to live.
Normally I'm always looking at the beginning and end of a story. The ending to Dante's visit to hell is that he emerges just before dawn on the morning of Easter Sunday beneath a sky studded with stars.
It follows what there's already been said by many others before me at numerous occasion. The message each time stays the same, and that is to seek out the light and continue to have hope.
