No. These are all decent attempts, but incorrect answers I'm afraid. Keep trying though guys, it's much simpler than you think.

Pssst, I'll give you a clue, read the question out loud to yourself... ;-)

There are No Rules... ;)

@Justpeaceandlove: Erm... no. I can see what you're thinking but you're on the wrong track still.
Although I do like that kind of thinking :-)

@sleepyhead: why are you saying it's wrong. I think nothing is wrong but it is a process. You were a baby once then you became an adult. It didn't happen overnight right?

@Justpeaceandlove: The question is designed to highlight three things;

1. People rarely answer questions correctly, usually because they have been misread in the first place.
2. People very often see what they want to see.
3. People often can't help attempting to control a situation.

So far that's been proven by people's answers, and I imagine will continue to be. But someone clever will come along eventually and get it right I've no doubt.

@sleepyhead: is that important to you that people get it 'right'. Not so much for me. People are people just being who they are. It's thinking you have to 'get it right' that messes up people.

@Justpeaceandlove: No, it doesn't matter to me in the slightest. It's not my question. It's an exercise from a book. I wondered if it was true and so far it is. I'm just interested to see what people write based on what the book says people will say. Or more to the point what they wont say. It's kind of fascinating, if you like sociological and psychological analysis of people and things.

And in fact in your comment just now couldn't be more right. People are indeed just being people, especially with the answers given so far. And for the record yes I agree, I think people growing up thinking they must get things right can mess some people up. Perhaps if people were taught to think laterally and literally more often and more accurately this would've been answered correctly already.

I've read some of your comments and posts, and you definitely are someone who could / would post the correct answer, if you stopped to think about it.

@sleepyhead: thinking gets me in trouble. Ever heard of intuition?
sleepyhead · 46-50, M
@Justpeaceandlove: I sure have. Use it to answer the question if you have it! lol
I'll give you a huge clue... (and this is kind of cheating because the idea, apparently, is not to give any clues but to keep asking the question over and over until someone answers correctly, although I think that's meant in a face to face situation, but it still sort of applies here!)

Stop overthinking your answer.

@sleepyhead: Overthinking is what the majority of the world does. Unless you want to be a hermit they're just conversations people are having.

@Justpeaceandlove: Overthinking is one of, if not the biggest reason people get the answer wrong to this particular question.

The funny thing is there are three correct answers, so there's triple the chances of getting it correct right there! lol

I admittedly only got one of them though :-( lol
