@Zenbra Read the Message of the LORD Jesus in the Gospels.. Eternity with a perfect God in His eternal perfect existence cannot be had by anyone who is not PERFECT... Not a human being on earth is Perfect and no human being can live a life without committing a sin / being imperfect.. Therefore there is only one avenue to having eternity with God and that is by being Justly forgiven all ones imperfections.. The Way of Salvation is by one believing Jesus ( His Word ) AND trusting in the Atonement Jesus secured to pay the penalty of our sins by His death on the cross..

While it is nice to strive to be the best version of yourself that you can be.. NO One can strive and succeed in being Perfect..

@Zenbra Well if you love the truth you do try to live in the truth.. So there is use in trying to live a good life.. But when it comes to eternal salvation nope no point trying to be good enough to justify your own entery into Gods perfect eternal existence..

@Adstar I don't believe that you have to be perfect in any way to be part of god's plan to get to heaven.

@Zenbra Once an imperfect being enters a perfect existence then that existence ceases to be perfect... Therefore imperfect humans cannot be allowed to enter into Gods perfect eternal existence..

God who is perfect cannot be corrupt and perfect someone unjustly.. Sweeping their evil deeds under the proverbial rug is turning a blind eye to sin.. God must be perfect in all things.. Justice being one of them.. God cannot compromise His Justice.. It is good to have mercy upon the repentant.. But the penalty for sin must be paid in full for God to justly forgive all ones sins.. Jesus the perfect LORD made manafest in the flesh paid the penalty for all the sins of all mankind.. But to justly have ones sins paid for one must acknowledge to God ones need for His payment and trust in His payment..

So you are correct in a way that i don't have to be perfect to be a part of Gods eternal plan.. Because i trust that the Atonement of Jesus forgives me of all my evil deeds and thoughts.. So that when i stand before the LORD on the day of Judgement i will be without any sins because they will be all washed away by the atoning blood of the LORD Jesus..
