I Believe In Ghosts

I have posted this before on another site but here goes again. About two or three years ago i was snoozing in front of the TV one evening when i was woken by a loud bang coming from the kitchen along with the very strong smell of gas, the boring bit is that i had failed to turn off the gas hob properly and it had been going for a good few hours. the more unsettling part of the story is the cause of the loud noise, it was a large old wine carafe that i use to keep bottle brushes and the like in, it was sitting upright with contents intact right in the middle of the sink. the carafe has always lived at the back of the windowsill totally surrounded by other bottles and jars full of cleaning products. it is impossible for it to have moved, and even if it had managed to fall over by itself it would have taken several other things with it, but nothing was disturbed just a space at the back where the bottle should have been. i tried to find an explanation to how it could have happened but there is just no way, it did creep me out for a long time but it also probably prevented disaster.

I don't believe in ghosts but there aren't any logical explanations for this. The most likely is that a person moved it but but no good reason why. I'm thinking dozens of different explanations but non are logical.

@GeniUs: No one but me in the house, and the bottle would have had to jump over other stuff and land perfectly upright about two feet away.

Definitely nobody there? They didn't get out, go to ground, slip past?
Do you remember leaving the gas on, or think you did but somebody else do it?
Has anything else unexplained happened since?

I live alone these days, i hadn't turned the gas knob fully off. yes a couple of other things have happened but nothing for a while now.
