Steel Bridge

I like the symmetry and the lines.
As I passed over it, I wondered how many had crossed before, where they were going, where they had been.
Did the bridge carry them to bigger and better things, or was there sad news waiting for them on the other side?
I imagine that bridge has some stories to tell, but like the water flowing in the river below, they have drifted away and lost to time.

I found signing the sentiment “Ghost” to be particularly fitting here, for as you passed, your memory joined those of all the other ghosts, some of whom might have shared your thoughts in the passing, as I surely would have. You are now part of that story. Struck me as a lovely thing. 😌❤️
@JustNik It did occur to me, but I thought it may have been reaching too far, on a metaphysical level 👻
So I’m glad you caught it ☺️
@Ghostinthemachine I mean I could see this being the backdrop for a leaflet for a funeral home or a spirit guide for contacting the dead.
Has your loved one crossed the bridge to the other side? Call now, great discounts in caskets and psychic messages, because crossing the bridge doesn’t mean they aren’t watching.
Call 1800 now for limited special offers. Jesting aside, your pics are great.
@CrystalSkull I think you may be on to a terrific business model: Funeral Services combined with Psychic Readings/Seances!
Add in real estate listings for the recently departed and you’ve really got a top notch multi-level money maker!
I’ll take the photos, you meet with the clients and let them know by bundling multiple services, they can save a ton of money 💰

Very linear, direct, needing to get somewhere. What thoughts would be encouraged?

Quite interesting to reflect upon the thoughts of past ghosts stepping along the stones.

@Ghostinthemachine Yes, just one image of a typical zen garden. I love the totally non-utilitarian structure of many of the gardens. Your bridge seems so direct, our path determined before we even choose.

Maybe something to be said for both.

PS. There is some sort of quote on the use of linear perspective in art that I will have to find. But time for bed....

@SW-User Looked up the words spoken of linear perspective. If anyone is interested:-

The collective will of an epoch precipitates into the arts. The rules of linear perspective characterized by a fixed station point symbolize rational, enlightened man at the center of his measurable world........The act of fixing the station point brought the temporal world into focus. The light of the visible world was gathered in a single point. The world was now measurable........A fatal blow came from Cezanne who unpinned the fixed station point. Unpinning the station point was the most definitive act of the Modem epistemology........Linear perspective was invented in order to look backward to antiquity for precedent, Cubism was invented to engage the present in all of its multi-cultural fullness. Perspective is precedent, rules, history, models, arrogance; Cubism is searching exploring, experimenting, discovery, and doubt. Perspective is ultimately a tool of archaelogists and historians, Cubism is a tool of inventors."

(From "Cezanne Picasso Braque: Birth of a Language" by Jim Blake)
@SW-User Interesting and thought provoking
I especially liked this quote
Perspective is ultimately a tool of archaelogists and historians, Cubism is a tool of inventors."

I would also add “artists”

There are six million stories in the Naked City....probably none coming from this bridge 🌉 You're signing your posts "Ghost" now😀
@bookerdana I was NOT naked when I crossed that bridge. Being a ghost, I suppose it wouldn’t really matter if I was 👻

@Ghostinthemachine Thats what they all say...I vas not naked🤨 I am a ghost......As in most things ,people were probably thinking of their own personal concerns
@bookerdana I would guess most people have bigger things on their minds than naked ghosts.
It’s the ones that don’t that worry me
