Have you been ghosted? [I Believe In Ghosts]

How does it make you feel?
SW-User
Yeah. More than once and I believe it is how online friendships seem to work. When I didn't know better, it felt personal, like I was irrelevant.
@SW-User sorry. Nothing anything else to say. 😭😭😭
PerfectionOfTheHeart · 46-50, F
Who hasn’t? I think I was even ghosted in the 80’s before it had a label...just because I didn’t give a kid a graham cracker before nap time 🙄. It used to impact my self-worth a ton, but I’ve adjusted that response over the years to a healthier one by realizing that being ghosted isn’t any reflection of my worth as a person...it has more to do with how big of a dick another person is.

DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
@PerfectionOfTheHeart around the same time.
Ironicman · 56-60, M
@PerfectionOfTheHeart I like the way you think
SW-User

Not the best feeling in the world
Gangstress · 41-45, F

it makes me laugh too - idiots mate @SW-User
Magenta · F
@SW-User Some people have an entire script written and movie made about us, all within their own minds. *smh*
SW-User
Yes it devastated me and it makes me angry. It's cowardly.
JustNik · 51-55, F
Yes. Usually there’s more of a drifting so you at least know it’s coming. The abrupt halt, I find a little jarring. It hurts if I cared, but at the end of the day, I don’t actually want anyone suffering my company.
Ironicman · 56-60, M
@JustNik that's a sensible outlook 😁
Yes. It made me realize that all the sweet drama was a pack of attention whoring lies from a mentally ill catfish.
Keepitsimple · 51-55, F
@NoThanksLeon I had that a couple of years ago. No catfish, just an evil bastard.
Lol yes.

And funnily, they came back months after……🤷🏻‍♀️
Ironicman · 56-60, M
@BloviatingBuffoon were you open arms?
@Ironicman sadly yes 😅
Stopmakingsense · 56-60, F
It's something I've had to get over. The first nineteen years Dad dominated our lives. Lucky for him, he moved on, entirely without looking back. I still remember how he faked profound deafness all those years, but when he divorced our mom And married a girl named Angie, a all of a sudden he was cured. We never got to celebrate this "miracle" with him. Lucky for him!
Ironicman · 56-60, M
@Stopmakingsense lol, selective hearing 😂
Like very sad but it was fair and I wish I had respected it
Flowerz · 36-40, F
A few times, yes. It's kind of devastating.
JupiterDreams · 31-35
Several times
summersong · F
Yup. Every once in a while it pisses me off but mostly I figure it’s for the best.
Ironicman · 56-60, M
@summersong that's a good way of looking at it.
JimboSaturn · 51-55, M
Oh ya. It's annoying. I would prefer them to tell me they don't want to cummunicate anymore.
SW-User
Usually makes sense, if i sense i can, i'll talk (type) till there's not one shred of decency left.
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
Happen once. Wasn't a good feeling since the relationship was over several months. 😔
Beatbox34 · 31-35, M
A lot. I kinda stopped getting attached to people after that.
Ironicman · 56-60, M
@Beatbox34 I hear you
Dolimyte · 41-45, M
Yes, and catfished, probably at the same time on occasion. It feels shitty.
Keeper · M
Yeah - two or three times. It's rude
Keepitsimple · 51-55, F
Yes. Relieved. They want sex talk.
Talesfromthedarkside · 26-30, M
Yep and it happens
I ha e recently ghosted a friend.

I am a terrible person 😔
Ironicman · 56-60, M
@InOtterWords maybe get in touch soon x
@Ironicman it felt awkward and forced 😳
I no longer felt able to talk to them.

There were also trust issues and I did not fancy a confrontation
iamonfire696 · 41-45, F
Yes I have. Then they come back and I am not interested.
SW-User
I haven't. Doesn't sound like fun tho.
