I Am Obsessed With Ghost Stories And The Topic Of Ghosts

I'm wondering whether you can choose to stay on earth as a ghost or to go to the next world when you die. And if not, what makes the decision of whether your soul goes or stays?

I've heard stories of the ghosts of people who died centuries ago but who's souls still wander around the place. Damn that must be boring and lonely...

How I understand it is that your soul aligns itself, for lack of better terms, throughout your life based on beliefs, actions, etc.

When you die your soul will move on according to how it is aligned, whether that is an afterlife, reincarnation, becoming one with whatever, etc.

Maybe certain conditions can lead to you not moving on properly and you are left behind (as you know, I am skeptical on this).

Interesting. I personally believe I've reincarnated many times, but I actually hope this is my last life here. For several reasons

If you don't mind me asking, why is that?

This may sound really negative but I've seen too much and too much of the same at that. The environment getting destroyed and most of the world's mightiest countries don't seem to do much about it. I don't like the time we're living in, and mostly the politics and "investments" in technology (more like making wrong priorities). We almost started ww3 last year if not at the beginning of this year. We decided to make it a Cold War 2. No thanks, I don't want to know how this story ends. I've lived enough lives over here by now.
