I Am A Ghost Among People
Is it always necessary to explain why or warn someone when we are about to disappear from their lives..to ghost on them? I admit, I do this often - disappearing without an explanation. Usually I assess if an explanation is even worth the time and energy to muster up. Other times I just abruptly abandon the situation and never look back. As soon as I do this, serious relief comes over me and I'm back to my equilibrium.
I'm going to have to do this again to someone who recently came back in my life. I've changed so much for the better since I last knew this person, grown so much.. and for this person to expect us to just pick up where we left off and not try to know who I am now - it is kind of an insult honestly. I don't think it is completely their fault that this person is incapable of understanding me the way I need to be understood. But they are in it for their own selfish gain. So a ghost I will become. Again.
