Dead is dead.
AnnaStark · 18-21, FNew
@Bumbles All beliefs acknowledge death. It cannot only serve one belief as evidence. And it certainly isn't evidence for permanent cessation. It would be foolish to believe that it is.
Bumbles · 56-60, M
@AnnaStark You don’t need evidence that when a dropped ball hits the floor it stops falling. Metaphysical assertions require no proof to the contrary. You are engaging in logical fallacy because you want to deny your mortality. You’re not alone, but you are also engaging is silly ancient ideas.
AnnaStark · 18-21, FNew
@Bumbles Your argument has resulted from not understanding what nature is capable of. You only consider natural tangibles- never natural intangibles like information. This is sloppy, half-effort thinking on your part.

What can be proven about an afterlife.

Man could not prove anything concerning an afterlife.

Nature governed by chance, I believe differently nature is governed by the Creator / example Man created a television to function in a specific way and that television does. God created the Earth to function in a certain way and the Earth does.

The Bible tells us that there will come a falling away before that man of sin is revealed, meaning many who say they are believers will cease to believe - therefore atheism grows - but that is for believers to acknowledge.

Have a happy New Year

@Charity I take it you're against anything more reasonable, thus true.
Charity · 61-69
@AnnaStark

More reasonable? The thing is what is reasonable to some and unreasonable to others can't be scientifically or literally either proven in any way.
AnnaStark · 18-21, FNew
@Charity The belief that nothing can be known for sure is commonplace and utterly false.
Unquestioned · 70-79, M
Nothing has been proven beyond doubt to me. I am agnostic, open minded, always looking. I know what I hope there is, and I believe there is some kind of intelligence in the universe, maybe even the universe itself. I also believe that we may have an eternal soul. I've studied the Holy Bible with four different religions; I find it very hard to believe it is the words of an intelligent god.
I have doubts. Can you provide links to some of the evidence and testing?
@AnnaStark Guess the news media missed out.
AnnaStark · 18-21, FNew
@BlueSkyKing Or refused to allow.
AnnaStark · 18-21, FNew
@BlueSkyKing Or remains unaware. Lots of possible explanations.
helenS · 36-40, F
There is no such thing as an infinite series in nature, AnnaStark.

Everything in nature is finite, and it doesn't play a role if people like that or not.
AnnaStark · 18-21, FNew
@helenS Your argument requires only looking at constituent events and never at their sum in space-time.
helenS · 36-40, F
@AnnaStark Ah ok you're right thank you.
AnnaStark · 18-21, FNew
@helenS I hope I wasn't too rough on you. You seem nice and sincere.
Zonuss · 46-50, M
Some people can see what's on the other side. Perhaps you should go talk to those people.☺
