A conundrum of biblical proportions… ~
1. The Bible claims that before the Flood, there were giants living on Earth:
“There were giants on the earth in those days…” (Genesis 6:4)
2. Then, the same text tells us that God, seeing “the wickedness of man,” decided to wipe out all living beings:
“I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast…” (Genesis 6:7)
3. The only ones spared from this global genocide were Noah and his family:
“But Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord.” (Genesis 6:8)
4. Then came the Flood, and the goal seemed achieved:
“Everything on dry land that had the breath of life in its nostrils died.” (Genesis 7:22)
5. Yet, surprisingly, the Bible later mentions giants again:
“And there we saw the giants…” (Numbers 13:33)
“Which also were accounted giants…” (Deuteronomy 2:11)
“That also was accounted a land of giants…” (Deuteronomy 2:20)
6. So, the “great divine plan” to cleanse the Earth from evil seems to have had some... minor flaws. Perhaps the giants were excellent swimmers — or perhaps the All-Knowing One didn’t quite foresee the ending of His own story.😎
