Life is like Chess. You have to plan ahead and make the right decision before you make a move.

The quality of our life depends on what and whom we allow in our lives and hearts. What better way to do that, than with the help and guidance of the wisest man in the universe...Jesus. Not one of us, has His insight. Not one of us is smarter nor wiser than He. Do we know how to reach heaven on our own? No way. Yet Jesus loved us enough to come down from heaven and show us the way. He didn't have to do that, but he did, because he loves us more than words could ever say. In fact, He volunteered to pay for our sins on the cross. He knows the past, present, and future. That's why He knows what's best for us and He always gives His best to us. Even the Bible speaks of how wise the ants are and that we should follow their example. They always prepare ahead of time for winter and gather/store their food. They are very wise. Much wiser than some people.

It is wise to take guidance from Jesus, because He provides wisdom and direction. The Bible contains many verses that discuss wisdom, guidance, and counsel.

How to seek guidance from Jesus:

Pray to God for guidance and wisdom. Scripture says not to be thinking we're so wise in our own eyes; but if any lacks wisdom, they can ask for it from the Lord, and He will freely give it.

You can ask God to help you make wise decisions and to give you a heart that is willing to listen to him.

Read the Bible:

Study the Bible and seek God's Word. The wise seek His instruction and do not resent it.

Listen to the Holy Spirit:

Be open to hearing the Holy Spirit's guidance. He will speak to you through your heart, spirit, and mind. His messages will be encouraging and supportive, leading you in ways that makes your heart know it is the truth, and the Peace of the Holy Spirit will fill you. The Holy Spirit gives us a peace that passes all understanding. He will never send you a message that feels confusing or troubling to your spirit.

Seek counsel:

You can always count on the Lord's guidance to be trustworthy and dependable. He will never lead you astray. He wants only the best for you as confirmed in Jeremiah 29:11. He will never lead us to evil or danger.

Ask for advice from other followers of Christ, who can provide wisdom, as they can share how Christ has helped them in their own lives.

Be humble:

Stay humble and avoid total self-reliance without God's guidance. When we seek Him first in our lives and give him first place, seeking his wise counsel, good things follow. Everything we have and all our blessings, come from the Lord. Most of all, his love. It is everlasting unto eternity.

Learn from your past:

Use your past experiences to help you make decisions, learn from your mistakes, and try not to repeat them. We can never go wrong, listening to the Lord. He loves you like no other ever could. He gave his best for you, when he died to pay for our sins, on the cross. How could we give him less?

Biblical verses about guidance:

Matthew 7:24: Jesus says that those who listen to His words and put them into practice, are wise.

Proverbs 12:15: The Bible says that those who listen to the Lord's counsel, are wise.

Proverbs 15:22: The Bible says that without counsel, purposes are disappointed, but with counsel, they are wisely established for our good.

We must become one body in Christ, our ark to protect us from the waters of this sinful world.

@LadyGrace Christendom could become incredibly powerful if we extend that toward only other christians, and loan money at interest to gentiles.

@Therealsteve I doubt it. Jesus said to love everyone.
