Many have been told to look for spiritual thrills, but the Bible says that a man is “justified by faith” (Romans 3:28), not by feelings.

Don't let that devil fool you. A person is saved by trusting in the finished work of Christ on the cross...not by bodily sensations or religious ecstasy.

But how does a person know they are saved?

The Bible clearly teaches that the moment a person turns from his sin and trusts in Jesus to be forgiven of his sin, he is saved (Acts 2:37-41). He has passed from spiritual death to spiritual life (John 5:24) and has been declared not guilty in God's court of law (Rom 3:21-26).

Does God want us to know we are saved?

Yes. He did not leave us to guess about our salvation, nor to worry about it.

First John 5:13 says this: “I have written these things to you so that you may know that you have eternal life, to you who believe into the name of the Son of God.” This verse shows us God doesn't want us to be unsure about our salvation. Our feelings don't save us; Christ saves us.

Don't feel bad when that devil tempts you to question your own salvation. You already know that Jesus is totally trustworthy and the Bible says he never goes back on his promises. Just stand on the promises of jesus. If there's anybody you can trust, it is Jesus. His character is that he is Holy and pure, and cannot lie. He is sinless.

Multiple Bible verses say that Jesus was sinless, including:

Hebrews 7:26
"He was holy, harmless, undefiled, and separate from sinners"

Hebrews 4:15
"We have a high priest who was tempted in every point like we are, yet without sin"

John 7:18
"The one who seeks the glory of him who sent him is true, and in him there is no falsehood"

Jesus also claimed to be perfectly sinless in John 8:46.

Blessed Assurance
Song by Phoebe Knapp

Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine
O what a foretaste of glory divine
Heir of salvation, purchase of God
Born of His spirit, washed in His blood.

This is my story, this is my song
Praising my Savior all the day long
This is my story, this is my song
Praising my Savior all the day long.

Perfect submission, perfect delight
Visions of rapture now burst on my sight
Angels descending bring from above
Echoes of mercy, whispers of love.

This is my story, this is my song
Praising my Savior all the day long
This is my story, this is my song
Praising my Savior all the day long
Praising my Savior all the day long.

Feelings are fickle and can change at anytime, but Jesus never changes, and never goes back on His Word. On that, you can rest assured.

Wonderful post! I do question your reference to Romans 3:28 which reads “ 28 Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.”
This enforces that believers are saved by grace and not works.
@Quimliqer My post makes reference that we should not trust in our feelings when it comes to asking for salvation, but that trusting in God's grace, is enough to save us.
