How much does the way someone look impact the way you view them.

If Jesus looked like This

Instead of this would it affect your faith?

If Hitler didn't look like a crazy ass white guy would he still have been the Führer

I was thinking about this because when i was growing up in the church Hinckley was the president, He was this small frail old Father Zosima type (from the Brothers Karamazov) who's voice cracked as he talked. I loved him and i believed in everything he talked about and said. I would even receive his books sometimes on the holiday's. books like, " Way to be by Gordon B. Hinkley" or "Stand a little taller" from my grandparents and I read them and I believed in what they represented.

In contrast when he passed away and Thomas S. Monson became the president he reminded me more of a villain character in the Robin hood movies.

Which doesn't make him a bad person or less spiritual it just made him less real to me.

The last time I looked "those in the know" had Christ looking like Cro-magnon man so this is an upgrade,honestly....I'm sorry no matter how I configure him,Adolph doesn't make the cut

@bookerdana I know but i'm trying to not copy and paste from google these are all from Wikimedia Commons.

I don't think Jesus was as Ugly as the National Geographic made him look.

@Lostpoet

He must have had a tremendous amount of Charisma, and I doubt his appearance was offf-putting...thanks for losing the National Geo thing

@bookerdana Do you think that the reason why we don't have a real image of Jesus is because it would be sacrilegious?
bookerdana · M
@Lostpoet No,Orthodox and Catholic churches have images and ikons..if the Shroud of Turin and Veronica's veil were scientifically verified they would display them ,in fact do display them with no positions as to their veracity.......
Lostpoet · M
@bookerdana I don't believe there is a true image of jesus just a commercially lucrative one.
bookerdana · M
@Lostpoet That doesn't bother me nor change my point,at one time they were considered authentic and no one said it was sacrilegious

@bookerdana But the oldest painting of Jesus was found in a church in Syria and it's dated to 235 AD two hundred and something years after he was killed. Nobody that ever laid eyes on Jesus ever replicated his image so no one can ever defile the image of Jesus because there isn't one. And who decided the image of jesus The Romans? Christ's disciples?

If you go by biblical context it wouldn't be the frail, emaciated, pale, long haired bearded man that we know today. And this all has pretty much nothing to do with my post or your comments. I'm just thinking out loud.
