Sometimes, maybe they are in awe of how tall I am. But staring is rude, so I do have issue with it

When they do I don't usually assume its an attraction thing, but I don't recall if they do or not. I doubt it. I know old people and kids do a lot. Kids are understandable, old folk are just rude.
