Unless we die of accident, illness, addiction, suicide or crime, it's inevitable that all living beings grow old.
I'm 70, with an almost 80-yr-old husband, and most of my friends are old or older. Some friends, numerous pets and most of my relatives have already died.
Humans, as a species, are usually fairly good at knowing about aging, especially in 3rd world countries.
But in the West, there's a tendency to throw aged relatives into institutional care, which means they're often off the streets and thus unseen.
There's also a tendency for oldies to increasingly stay home, through either preference or necessity.
But never doubt we are here, all around you, merely mostly hidden.
Of the total population, we currently number about 18%.
As for beauty, inner beauty becomes far more attractive as we age. (It always has been for me.)
We learn to read the signs of vanity and find them either funny or somewhat repulsive.
