Finding Beauty in Sadness
Yesterday I went to a park and meditated underneath a beautiful oak tree.I was feeling painfully depressed and having thoughts about cutting myself.
For the past three months I’ve been battling anorexia and self harm.
After meditating, I opened my eyes and saw how beautiful nature was. The green grass and the sun shining through the trees.
It gave me a comforting thought, that there is beauty in sadness. That just because you’re sad, it doesn’t stop the world around you from being beautiful. And it doesn’t stop you from being beautiful either.
Perhaps I should stop trying to be happy and instead embrace the beauty that comes from my darkness and pain. I am sad and I always will be. But I am beautiful.
