I Have Red Hair

@IAmJess yeah it is... but as a kid people made a lot of fun of me.

@RedFlower Yeah. There was a redheaded kid in my class. We all teased him, but it was good natured.

@IAmJess I understand that now. We were kids back in the 70's. He was not bullied because of it either.

@chrisCA I'm not concerned with whether or not you were a bully back in the 70's. That's ancient history and I'm sure you meant no harm.

What I'm concerned with is you talking about it today and writing it off as good natured because other people will read that and say, "Yeah, I'm being good natured too!"

But there's no such thing.

Here's why... Let's say twenty people in that kid's life picked on him for his red hair (or acne or curly hair or whatever) and nineteen of them were just being good natured. The one who was truly mean and hurtful with intent altered that kids ability to perceive your good natured teasing. To the kid, you and the nineteen others were simply an extension of the bully.

By saying it was good natured, you are giving license today for kids to be part of the nineteen who end up being just as hurtful.
