Does this make any sense? [I Am Fat]

Two weeks ago I was outside on my patio talking to my new roommate, an amusing guy I like although he is a generation younger than I am. I was so happy that we mainly get along that I said some complimentary things to him praising his humor and lively personality. He said that we two could never be friends because I am "boring." I felt terrible and almost cried.

About a week ago, he began to make negative comments on my weight and size and shape. One remark, out of nowhere, "Wouldn't you be happier without that big butt?" I have told him I don't appreciate these critical remarks about my body. His excuse (too often heard by fat people) is that it's all for my own good and he says it because he is concerned about me and cares about my health and well being.

So...is it OK to explicitly reject someone's friendship, state that this person isn't qualified to be your friend, and then insult them personally and say it's because you care about them?

I don't think so.

@Paintedfox I'm not the manager of this roominghouse. So I have no say in that.
