It's been years and perhaps it's been decades since the last time I took care of myself appearance-wise

But I mean in a deeper level of truly giving the time to prepare myself, comb my hair, massage my face, give me care this way.
I thought I was doing it. Giving 5 minutes every other day.

I am not an expert, but my doctor told me long ago that it is important to eat well and that what you put in your mouth makes a huge difference. I eat clean and I have noticed I am not aging as poorly as others around me.

@Fungirlmmm that's true too. Glad you're taking it seriously. I'm doing my best too regarding this!

@Fungirlmmm same here. I’m aging much better than my friends.

If I thought that anything I did actually made a meaningful difference I'm sure I'd spends ages every day working on how I look (I'm bit vain as I'm sure you have noticed). But I don't think there's much hope for me as far as all that's concerned.

But does it really matter as long as you are clean and healthy and feel good?
elafina · 36-40, F
@ninalanyon I think it does matter. It's setting up a mood, a tone. Colours. It tells yourself you're a queen and deserve to be treated like one, and it aids to making choices like one.

But why it's meaningful to you, if you care to expand on this?
ninalanyon · 61-69, T
@elafina I'm not sure I know why. All I can say is that I feel better, more me, if I am prettily dressed with my earrings and lipstick on. But my face is not very feminine and I've never had the nerve to try any more makeup.
elafina · 36-40, F
@ninalanyon I can't stand the full face makeup. I need to feel that my skin can breathe. I agree on that it feels better not being able to fully understand it.
How I explain it is about expressing ourselves ❤️

It makes a difference..even just a few minutes a day
elafina · 36-40, F
@SW-User it does but I was neglecting it, putting it into the basket of "too superficial shit for a spiritual existence"
soulshadow · 36-40, M
I haven't used a comb since hugh school. Lol
elafina · 36-40, F
@soulshadow try it and see...

I’m trying to take care of myself. I guess it’s still important to me.
AlchemyFox · 36-40, F
It all counts.
elafina · 36-40, F
@AlchemyFox It does, yes. I feel I wasn't taking myself seriously and that I kind of neglected my worldly appearance. I always felt beautiful and that I don't need to do anything other than being natural.
I still believe in being natural, but I want to take better care of myself now and even get more playful and expressive, more free in a way.. as if I limited myself in this "all natural all simple" ..
Still appreciating it, but there're moments for all!
AlchemyFox · 36-40, F
@elafina I take very good care of my skin. It makes me feel good, but I haven't worn makeup in a long time. Natural does feel best, but there are some fun ways to feel expressive and caring for you 🤗
elafina · 36-40, F
@AlchemyFox I'm beginning with simple little things with the intention to grow from there.
Makeup was never my thing either. But there're other ways!
Be happy and rest will be taken care
