MLB (Baseball) playoffs

The 2025 semifinalists by most recent World Series title:

Los Angeles Dodgers (2024)
Toronto Blue Jays (1993)
Milwaukee Brewers (never)
Seattle Mariners (never)

As someone who doesn't follow baseball but roots for the underdogs, and teams that haven't won in a while, let's go anyone but the Dodgers!

Also ranking them by payroll in MLB (30 teams total) and rooting for the lower salary teams.

#2 Los Angeles Dodgers, $321,287,291
#5 Toronto Blue Jays, $239,642,532
#16 Seattle Mariners, $146,793,414
#23 Milwaukee Brewers, $115,136,227

I know we got some Bluejay fans in here, and I'm extremely glad y'all beat the Yankees... but I'd love a Brewers - Mariners World Series knowing that one of the teams has to win their first one in the history of their franchises, also while having less than average of the cash resources to buy players.

That being said, anyone but the Dodgers who recently won one also works... 30+ years for the Blues Jays is a lot time too.

I agree that having teams who have never won their sport's highest title compete for it is VERY satisfying.

And teams for which it is no novelty shoukd understand that, as part of good sportsmanship.

The behavior of the NYY fans during the series where Boston broke the so-called "curse of the Bambino" was so utterly appalling that its eminent lack of good sportsmanship--in a pro sport which had been KNOWN for it!--was extremely off-putting.
