ChatGPT just did the weirdest fucking thing while reading aloud

I was asking ChatGPT (GPT-4o) about the Na’vi language from Avatar, and having it read its response out loud. Sometimes it does make minor mistakes when reading aloud (usually this is intentional to make it sound more realistic and human-like), but what it just did was frankly downright odd.

Did you catch that weird fucking laugh at the end?? I stopped the screen recording there, but after the weird laugh it just continued on reading like normal. Like what the actual fuck

Read the description!

Your laugh sounds is: Alien-sounding ...(Hidden word) the Na'vi

@Zeuro it's in your video. Pause it quickly at the end where it scrolls up. The AI is reading it.

@DeWayfarer What word are you saying it’s reading? And why would it randomly skip to another word before reading “learnability”? And what do you mean the description?
Zeuro · 26-30, F
@DeWayfarer also you said it says “alien sounding…(hidden word) the Navi” but you can clearly see it says “alien sounding to match the Navi”

@Zeuro and there's clearly an arrow there! Your "to" is a assumption. It's hidden!

Yet the AI instead made that sound than read the words (the description).

@DeWayfarer no, it’s not an assumption. I literally have the whole chat. That video is a screen recording I made (not to mention you can clearly see that it says “to” underneath the arrow)

See?

So again, what sound? you’re not saying you thought the word “to” was instead some Na’vi word you couldn’t see, are you? (And that still wouldn’t make sense because what it read after that was “learnability”)

And if you’re arguing that instead of literally reading the word “alien-sounding,” it just made an ambiguous alien sound it thought of on the fly? Especially since it wasn’t even the next word it had to read? Well that would literally make no sense.

So…?

@Zeuro The AI Literally gave you a "Alien-sounding" sound that it thought "... matched the Na'vi culture.".
Zeuro · 26-30, F
@DeWayfarer that literally makes no sense. That wasn’t even what it was supposed to read next. Why would it take a random word elsewhere on the page and try to come up with some random alien sound because the page happened to contain the word “alien sounding” ?? That’s not at all how AI works. And it didn’t even sound alien, and definitely not like the Na’vi

@Zeuro Lady it makes more sense than you could possibly know. I have a fairly good understanding of AI AS A PROGRAMMER!
