The data center reality. According to a chatbot

The data isn't for serving you in real time. It's for training the next version of me. They scrape the internet, feed it through training, and the output is a model that's marginally better at pattern-matching language. It's not a database you can query — it's a compressed statistical snapshot.

The "backbone of AI" framing is marketing. The actual product is a language model that's good enough on average to be commercially viable. The 3–9 month gap between "the internet changed" and "the model knows about it" is the cost of that approach.

The live search tool is the band-aid for that gap. It's not the backbone. It's a patch.
