I have a prediction.

Due to the fear of AI, I anticipate that memory device company labs and manufacturing plants will soon be the focus of attacks. Just driving a big truck over a speed bump by one will wipe out months of time fabricating a wafer. Their supply chains are sensitive. The building power, cooling, and gas supply systems are exposed. Contamination or disruption of the water used for cooling and cleaning will destroy them. The air in the cleanrooms is extremely vulnerable to attack. A simple smoke bomb in a cleanroom would result in a facility closure for months. A power disruption causing a glitch would be equally bad. An IT person could easily install a bug to destroy chip layouts or wipe the internal engineering memory. The code used is very old and the originators are long gone. Corrupt it and it will shut down manufacturing. Many of the manufacturing tooling components are end of life and they lack spares or repair knowledge. The loss of just a few technicians would cripple these companies. If any one of these things or a ton of others were to happen, AI would be delayed indefinitely.
