Is It Worth Posting on SW? - Claude AI's Answer

Similar Worlds is an anonymous social platform where people share experiences and connect over common interests or situations. Whether it's "worth it" really depends on what you're looking for.

It might be worth it if you want:
A space to vent or share things anonymously that you wouldn't post elsewhere
To connect with people going through similar experiences (the platform is built around this)
Low-stakes social interaction without the performance aspects of mainstream social media

It might not be worth it if you're looking for:
High-quality discussions or deeply informed perspectives
Building a professional network or public presence
A large, active audience (it's much smaller than major platforms)

The anonymity can be both a feature and a drawback - it allows honesty but can also mean less accountability in how people engage.

quite honestly, the way I see it, if you just want discussions and forums, go to reddit. I think SW is more for chatting with more people about "tabooed" topics. Yes you can use reddit for that as well, but given that a lot people on reddit look for actual conversations, and SW is more disposable, this is more of a go-to for tabooed topics (atleast for me).

@JerseyMike4Milk I'm glad you added that last line because, for a lot of us, the anonymity of SW (and EP before it) allows for deeper connections without necessarily getting into tabooed topics.
VladG94 · 31-35, M
@JerseyMike4Milk No, it's really not worth it in Reddit either in my eyes, at least for me anyways, I would know because I was there myself and they're pretty open to dismissing your open discussion views immediately filled with moderators and downvotes left and right, so it's really not a place for free speech at all actually but filled with community rules just like Facebook too!!!!

@VladG94 I get it, but have you ever found substance in agreement? Reddit is normally dismissive , sure, but I see debates more often than not between the two thoughts with good points for either side. Here it’s just being agreeable and nice.
sarabee1995 · 31-35, F
@JerseyMike4Milk Here is agreeable and nice? Lol, apparently you and I run in different circles!!

I've gotten in many political and religious debates on here. Very deep, very provocative, and very passionate.

Like all sites, there are algorithms. It feeds you back what you seek.
VladG94 · 31-35, M
@JerseyMike4Milk Not really, I don't see that at all in Reddit to be honest.... And thus I got shit on and banned in groups on Reddit because I have different opinions from many people in Reddit and said truthful factual things that people really hate there, so I utterly deleted my Reddit altogether as I never liked it at all there anyways....

@VladG94 I had a very different experience. I do feel that a lot of subreddits are notorious for bullying sometimes. I am sorry that you had to face all of that. I believe noone should ever be bullied for having opinions, no matter how much yours misalign with them. So I completely side with you on that. However, my experience has been much different. Ive had my share of hot takes on rather brutal subreddits but it was always very contained (mildly aggressive but pretty balanced on either sides) distribution
JerseyMike4Milk · 26-30, M
@sarabee1995 I think we do. I refrain from politics in general. I do get into ethical debates a lot, but lord do I hate politics. So I dont even do that on reddit. However, SW for me is a much better place to find quick chats and delve into more kinky stuff (thats what I do normally) but the communities on reddit are far more active for actual tangible discussions regarding topics and things that matter to me. It is also much more granular in volume and has a much better collection of niche topics.

So I totally understand that we are in very different circles around here. But if there's something that intrigues me here, I will give SW a chance. I love discussing, logic, science , startups, entrepreneurial stuff etc. So Im pretty open to finding good communities here that cater to my inner geek
sarabee1995 · 31-35, F
@JerseyMike4Milk I was talking about here, not reddit.

And I didn't say I was bullied. I said I'd had many very deep, very provocative, and very passionate discussions. All of which, btw, I was engaged in voluntarily. I have no issue with or objection to debate. I quite enjoy it.

If you are here delving into kinky stuff, then the algorithms will feed you more of that. I don't see 98% of the kinky stuff happening here because I don't seek it out and have no interest in it.

Well, I've been here on SW and it's predecessor EP since I was 16/17. I can tell you that it is whatever you make it.

@JerseyMike4Milk We can definitely agree to disagree on Reddit personally but thanks for empathizing with me though!!!!
JerseyMike4Milk · 26-30, M
@sarabee1995 The bullying thing wasnt for you, Ive tagged you for the comment that is supposed to be a reply to you.
JerseyMike4Milk · 26-30, M
@VladG94 ofcourse man, empathy is key! Irrespective of what platform you like or someone else likes, noone should ever be bullied. Disagreements are healthy really and I respect that. Cheers!
VladG94 · 31-35, M
@JerseyMike4Milk Ahh, well thanks for your kindness!!!! I'm just generally not a very coercive person in general since doing so actually enslaves other people's own right to their own liberty, no matter how strong and defensive I ever get for my views on certain things that are personally sensitive and important to me in whatever things that I believe in my own terms in general due to my own morality and so on in general, it's not really about imposing my opinions onto anyone since people can think whatever they want, but am only ever just saying to speak out of what I were to say in my own free speeches and it's up to the person to take it or not in their own will or choose not to take in general since it matters for everyone to realize that I don't say things out of coercion either no matter what important things that I say and all people need to do is tell me that they disagree with me, I just only speak out and explain in great detail of things in general even if how I word things too that isn't always worded correctly since I also make mistakes in being less clear as I also have high functioning autism too to be honest!!!!
VladG94 · 31-35, M
@JerseyMike4Milk And as far as empathy goes, it's actually really hard to show alot of empathy to people, especially when you've come from a life where trust and betrayal is commonplace in life all the time, myself being that example to be honest....
sarabee1995 · 31-35, F
@JerseyMike4Milk Oh sorry. I didn't notice there is someone else here in this thread. Whoever it is must have me blocked because I'm only seeing your side of the chat.
OverTheHill · 61-69, M
@sarabee1995 I am the one who made the original post. VladG 94 is the other one speaking.
VladG94 · 31-35, M
@OverTheHill Is someone talking about me? 🤨🤨🤨🤨🤨🤨🤨
sarabee1995 · 31-35, F
@OverTheHill Thanks. Yes, of course I see your original post. But I see nothing from Vlad. He must have me blocked. The really weird thing is I don't think I've ever seen him on here or ever said a word to him. Lol, I'm just not everyone's cup o' tea I guess. 🤷‍♀
OverTheHill · 61-69, M
@VladG94 Looks like someone you blocked. Nothing negative was said. FYI.
VladG94 · 31-35, M
@OverTheHill That's strange, do you know what the name is so that maybe I might unblock the person? Because I'm not sure I really remember....
OverTheHill · 61-69, M
@VladG94 It is sarabee 1995. Hopefully that might help you both.
sarabee1995 · 31-35, F
@OverTheHill Lol, it's so funny seeing only one side of a conversation. 🤷‍♀
If he ever wants to talk to me, I pretty much talk to anyone.
