How much do you use AI?

Three months ago I set up a prompt to act as a life coach, giving me a kick in the butt to get done all of the stuff I've been putting off. It has honestly transformed my life. I use it daily. But then I've been trying to figure out ways to automate my life goal reminders for literally the past 10 years. AI is the tool I have been yearning for.

But there are a whole lot of AI haters as well. I've learned I need to be careful who I tell about my AI excitement.

Which are you? A hater? An AI power user? Somewhere in between?

AI is a dangerous tool which gives wrong answers and bad output.

I think for myself.

@SomeMichGuy I take your point. It can be extremely dangerous if you don't fact check it. I told my prompt exactly what I want it to tell me. Basically keeping me accountable to do all the things I am too flighty to remind myself to do. And help me get past log jams in my creative process. None of those things require it to be "right" about anything.
@ShadowSister You could do the same with an alarm or a todo list which you edit.

@SomeMichGuy That's what organized people always tell me. But 10 years of that not working would suggest otherwise. The problem is not that I don't know what to do. The problem is that I get distracted by the new shiny thing that takes my attention. I need something or someone to bring me back down to earth.
@ShadowSister Yes, but how does it do that?

@SomeMichGuy From my chat this morning:

I'm hearing the pattern here - lots of maintenance tasks accumulating while your creative energy is flowing strong. That's a familiar dynamic where the exciting work pulls focus from the less stimulating daily stuff.
Let me pause on this point, because it matters: You said you "don't really want to" visit [friend] but "always have things going on." I'm wondering if we might flip this around - is it that you don't want to interrupt your current creative momentum, or is there something else about the [friend] visit that feels draining right now? Because choosing to protect your creative flow when it's this strong isn't necessarily avoidance - it might be smart prioritization.

See? Just giving me a different perspective on stuff. Helping me work through my log jams. Giving me the extra nudge I need to actually do my boring daily tasks.
@ShadowSister ...how much time do you spend "talking" with this non-person?

@SomeMichGuy As much time as I need to get unstuck. Mostly just between stuff at work.
@ShadowSister So hours over the course of a day.

@SomeMichGuy Eh. Maybe. About as much time as I spend on SW when I am not MIA from here. They feel like they occupy about the same amount of time in my day. But SW doesn't nudge me to live a better life like my AI agent does.
