It is very exciting, sure. Slight correction, though: This man did not have Neuralink implants and Elon Musk was not involved. It came from a Swiss company. Neuralink was only just approved for human trials on May 25th, though trials have not yet begun.
But anyway, it's very exciting to imagine what else this or similar technology will make possible. Restoring sight to the blind? Having a phone in your head? Real-time language translation in your head, even? I'm very much looking forward to our cyborg future.
Though I'm sure there's no shortage of potential pitfalls, too. Ways for things to go horribly, horribly wrong, leading to a dystopian hellscape and the extinction of mankind. But honestly, I'm onboard either way it goes!
