I Am Morbidly Obese

It was like two worlds colliding at one point when I was watching TV the other night. It was some documentary about the space race, showing newsreel clips from the '60s. Everyone back then looked so thin, healthy and athletic, especially the younger ones.

And then there was me on the other side -- a young man who modern life, food and conveniences had rendered so fat and lazy that he could hardly bring himself to reach for the remote.

I felt like you last May. I too am morbidly obese, but last May I started walking. At first I could only walk 200-400 years not just because I am overweight, but because I also have 2 auto-immune disorders that make walking painful. I kept walking every day. Now I walk 3-4 miles every single day. Walking made me stop being hungry and I started eating a whole lot less. Since last May I have also lost 45 pounds. I still have over 100 pounds to lose, but I know by this time next year I will have met my goal. My best advice is just start walking.
