Ok,
I’m back with the rest of the story.
So the ice and snow had made the roads dangerous. Tom lives further out than I do. Luckily he didn’t lose power, but had been without water for several days, because his pipes froze.

He called Thursday and said he had to go back to work, and can he stay over. He needs a nice hot shower.
