Any “extra” weight- 130 lbs or even less (BMI 22 or under, slightly higher side of “healthy” weight)
140 lbs
150 lbs (BMI 25, technically “overweight”)
160 lbs
175 lbs (BMI 30, technically “obese”)
185 lbs
200 lbs
220 lbs
240 lbs
260 lbs
You aren’t really “fat” if you weigh less than 280 lbs
Not unless you weigh well over 300 lbs or more

Take a woman of average height (say 5 foot 4 inches), and tell me at what weight would you consider her a bigger girl?

I’ll put a poll but please feel free to explain or be more specific in the comments!!!

I’d also like to add: I believe that every body shape and size is unique and worthy of love wholeheartedly, and as long as you incorporate a healthy diet and a little exercise into your life then the shape or weight of your body is of no concern to anyone!!! I’m just curious what the consensus would be here 😉

I would consider someone "fat" when they're mostly fat instead of muscle and skin. I'd probably say around 3 or 4+ over their normal BMI index. 1 to 3 is more so chubby.
This is, of course, depending entirely on fat content and not muscle mass.

@SW-User It’s so hard to draw a line, right? It all depends so much on a persons body type. And everybody is so unique, no two bodies are the same.

Even two people with the same height and weight, one always looks “fatter” than the other by appearance and it can even change depending on what they’re wearing.

@SnowGirl Yup, this is all very much true. It's hard to really draw the line, but when you know, you know.

@SW-User But it isn’t so black and white, right?? Because there’s skinny, healthy, curvy, pudgy, chubby, thick, fat, and mobidly obese.. Everybody has their preference to what they find attractive, sure. But with so many options on an infinite spectrum, how can you know when somebody is fat and not just chubby??

@SnowGirl You can see it. Fat begins to lean into obese. Like I see a beer gut or a burger gut and you KNOW that's fat. At times there are telltale signs, and others not so much.

@SW-User Thats fair. I guess a 140 lbs girl that carries all the weight in her tummy with a teeny tiny chest, bum, and a thigh gap could even be fat?

And a naturally bigger featured, thicker girl without much of a tummy might not really be fat? Would you consider this girl fat?

@SnowGirl Looking at it, yes, I would. She has numerous folds going on, you can see A LOT of extra meat on her.
SnowGirl · 26-30, F
@SW-User Fair. A lot of girls get more folds when they’re losing weight and less when they gain though 🤔
I know there’s no perfect answer.
For what’s it’s worth though, no matter what society wants to call her I think she’s drop dead gorgeous

@SnowGirl Possibly. I'd need to see the whole package to really render judgement, but even then that judgement wouldn't be me. I'd rather judge based on personality than looks.
