It must have been a long time ago and the memory isn’t what it was. Puberty is a period of dramatic change for preteen girls and early teen boys. It is a transformative time that doesn’t have a clearly defined timing.

In my family females experienced puberty earlier than other females, and they are further along on the graph of developmental stages ahead of their peers. My mother got her first period when she was ten and a half years old. I got mine slightly later, but my daughter got hers just before her eleventh birthday. Generally girls follow their maternal line.
