Getting old sucks

I miss when my kids used to get super excited to see me when I got home from work. Now I feel like no one is excited to see me, ever 🫤

I get this and am frequently reminiscent. My eldest has been at Uni since last Sept and when he comes home some of those dynamics have returned. I'm thinking about getting a dog too. Hold on to those memories although they still love you.
