How to Properly Use Comparative and Superlative Adjectives

Superlatives are words used to show that something has the most or least of a quality, such as tallest, biggest, and most beautiful. They compare three or more things to show which one is at the top or bottom of a group.

Short Words
Tall: Tallest (He is the tallest boy in the class)
Fast: Fastest (She is the fastest runner)
Hot: Hottest (That was the hottest day of the year)
Long Words
Beautiful: Most beautiful (This is the most beautiful flower)
Expensive: Most expensive (That is the most expensive car)
Careful: Most careful (He is the most careful driver)
Irregular Words
Good: Best (She is the best player)
Bad: Worst (That is the worst movie)
Far: Farthest (He ran the farthest)
