in some US states they can have consensual sex at 16 - in others 18
in the UK I think it is 16
at home? they still live under their parent(s) roof so - their rules.

@Pretzel What I'm saying is that states recognize that kids have certain legal rights -- to food, to clothing, to education. Shouldn't states recognize that teens also have a basic human right to have sex and that parents should be required to allow them to have sex in their homes?

@FrogManSometimesLooksBothWays the consequences of sex are life-altering.
I have no problem with 18 as the legal age.although prosecuting an 18 year old for having sex with a 17 year old seems pointless (and most states have exceptions for "romeo and juliet" situations - and even call them that)
and when it comes to sex in my house - the state can't tell me when my kids will have sex in my house - I raise my kids not the almighty state.

@Pretzel good call
@Pretzel Some school districts distribute condoms to kids. Those school districts are enabling sex. Kids like to say, "It's just fucking." And they're right. It's no big deal. Get over it. Sexual inhibition leads to neurosis. You want your kids to be neurotic?

@FrogManSometimesLooksBothWays I don't want them to be parents.
