Does Atheism make you cruel to animals?

Today I learnt about a scientist who liked to lock cats in box's to test out their non binary mortality. I don't quite understand it but the box was like a death trap and because cats have nine lives, no one could be sure that the cat was actually dead until the box was opened.

This is very cruel and totally unnecessary.

If Atheism makes you that sadistic, is it really worth it?

False premise ... DEAD WRONG claim !!!

Schrödinger's cat is a famous Gedankenexperiment, (German: “thought experiment”).

Early 20th century physics had a grand tradition of thought experiments, such as Einstein's windowless elevators and falling train cars. Neither cats nor elevators were harmed when physicists explained the ramifications of their theories.
