I have noticed that the majority of people in here who claim to be atheists are not really atheists.

They just are mad at God for whatever reasons.

It is a very common thing for so-called atheists to be mad at the God they profess not to believe in. Haven’t you ever watched some of them on the television in debate getting madder and madder in their reasoning about this God they hate but not believing in? It was a phenomenon with the so-called new atheists.

And it is very prevalent here if you read some of the posts. Of course they deny it like anything because they kid themselves that it’s reason working but no it’s denial. But then you notice how many times they go off into abuse

@Mathers
Haven’t you ever watched some of them on the television
No, I’ve never seen any such thing
Mathers · 61-69
Oh boy have you seen Stephen Fry spluttering get ever so mad and red in the face when he’s talking about the God he hates but doesn’t believe in@newjaninev2
newjaninev2 · 56-60, F
@Mathers You mean here, when he’s asked a hypothetical question, and answers it?

Where he expresses his contempt for the despotic, evil, god postulated by christians... Is that what you mean?

“life becomes simpler, purer, cleaner, and more worth living..."
Mathers · 61-69
Like Stalin made it! @newjaninev2
newjaninev2 · 56-60, F
@Mathers Stalin? What does Stalin have to do with Stephen Fry expressing his contempt for the despotic, evil, god postulated by christians?
Mathers · 61-69
Exactly! Fry gets so mad with the God he doesn’t believe in. Proves our point. Ring off! Point proved! @newjaninev2
newjaninev2 · 56-60, F
@Mathers What are the opening words?

What if...?

So don’t run away anywhere... Fry doesn’t chastise a god, he chastises a completely hypothetical god.

He’s talking about a fiction

Tell me... what if your god were actually a Kalahari aardvark?
Mathers · 61-69
Fry hasn’t a clue what he is talking about. He is a completely ill informed troll. @newjaninev2
TheOrionbeltseeker · 36-40, M
@newjaninev2 You are beating around the bush, Janinev. We hear a rule everywhere which says if you have a doubt that this could be the situation, then act like it is really the situation.

(In context of No God or God argument of yours)
newjaninev2 · 56-60, F
@Mathers He’s taking about as proposed fiction... a completely hypothetical construct.

What is it you feel he has wrong?

Does child cancer exist?

Does river blindness exist?
newjaninev2 · 56-60, F
@TheOrionbeltseeker a
doubt that this could be the situation
that what could be the situation?
Mathers · 61-69
So Fry blames the God he doesn’t believe in. Very logical.@newjaninev2
newjaninev2 · 56-60, F
@Mathers Are you being wilfully obtuse?

I will repeat myself: He’s taking about as proposed fiction... a completely hypothetical construct.

“I would say...”

So Fry doesn’t blame anything... he talks about his behaviour in a fictional situation that would involve a fictional magical entity.

A fictional magical entity that might be a Kalahari aardvark that enjoys murdering babies and which worships death, by the way
Mathers · 61-69
Fry is an actor and actors deal in fiction. 5heir opinions are generally worthless as they live in a make-believe world@newjaninev2
newjaninev2 · 56-60, F
@Mathers Yes, Fry is an actor (among other things).

What of it?

He was asked for his supposed response were he to find himself in a hypothetical situation, and he responded to that proposed fiction.

Again... what of it?

Have you ever cried while watching a film?

Was that film recorded as live action in real life?
Mathers · 61-69
I’ve cried while watching Fry’s films. He is awful! @newjaninev2
newjaninev2 · 56-60, F
@Mathers Which has nothing to do with my question.

I can understand why you are avoiding answering any of my questions, but it really is somewhat tedious.

If you feel the need to run away, them please simply do so.
Mathers · 61-69
I’m looking for your proofs of your dogma@newjaninev2
newjaninev2 · 56-60, F
@Mathers What dogma?

Please specify
TheWildEcho · 56-60, M
@Mathers yes I've been bemused with Fry ranting and raving at God, then claiming not to believe in Him!!
newjaninev2 · 56-60, F
@TheWildEcho Do you have trouble distinguishing between hypothetical postulations and reality?

I mean, if I wrote ‘suppose I were in the UK...” would you immediately put the kettle on and await my arrival at your door?
TheWildEcho · 56-60, M
@newjaninev2 lol, that's funny!
newjaninev2 · 56-60, F
@TheWildEcho It’s also a serious question... which you apparently don’t want to answer

@Mathers
He is a completely ill informed troll.
That describes you very well. 👍
JimboSaturn · 51-55, M
@newjaninev2 Me neither. I have never seen atheists get mad. On the contrary, it is usually the religious person who gets angry. This post is an example of the hate these supposed Christians feel for people who don't share the same belief as them.
