Burden of Proof [I Am Not An Atheist]

When atheists asked me for proof that God exists, I always tell them that the proof lies with them. After all there are so many obvious signs of design in the universe - such as the extreme fine tuning of so many forces - that unless someone can show beyond doubt it’s a cosmic accident I will not violate my common sense.

I can give you 0 out of 10 for thinking@Fired

@Speedyman I think that explains your post.
Speedyman · 70-79, M
I think it explains that you have no idea what you’re talking about as most atheist don’t@Fired

@Speedyman I am not an atheist, I am a Christian...
Speedyman · 70-79, M
Well in that case you should be in agreement with me@Fired
Fired · 22-25, M
@Speedyman But the burden of proof isn’t on them, it’s on us.

And we don’t have evidence that will satisfy them.
Speedyman · 70-79, M
There is plenty of evidence. There is the fine tuning of the universe and incredibly complexity of the cell which has the mark of the creator on it.@Fired
Fired · 22-25, M
@Speedyman They will always want more, it’s easier to let them think how they like and live my life.
Speedyman · 70-79, M
Of course your greatest witness is the life you live before people. If people don’t want to believe then nothing will persuade them. Remember Jesus raised the man who had been dead four days and they still didn’t believe. But the Bible does say that we need to be able to give a reason for the hope that is within us @Fired
@Speedyman
There is plenty of evidence.
What evidence points to your specific god and no other? Members of most other religions would say the evidence points to their god(s).

The resurrection of Jesus from the dead @NortiusMaximus
@Speedyman
The resurrection of Jesus from the dead
What real evidence is there that it actually happened? I'm not aware of any reports other than a mention in the bible, there's no corroboration. It also bears a remarkable similarity to the story of Odin's sacrifice on the Yggdrasil Tree and His subsequent resurrection.
Speedyman · 70-79, M
There is actually quite a bit mentioned in ancient documents.but none so blind as those who won’t see@NortiusMaximus
@Speedyman
There is actually quite a bit mentioned in ancient documents
Pity nobody has ever managed to produce any of these so-called ancient documents.
Speedyman · 70-79, M
The Bible is the best attested ancient documents in the world documentary evidence@NortiusMaximus
@Speedyman So where is this documentary evidence? Why can't anyone produce it?
Speedyman · 70-79, M
There are thousands of documents.@NortiusMaximus
@Speedyman Simply making that claim doesn't prove anything, not even that those documents exist. There are thousands of documents relating to Santa Claus too. That must mean Santa is real.
Speedyman · 70-79, M
For goodness sake you can go to the Rylands Museum in Manchester and see a document from 125 AD. There are literally thousands of them. There are literally thousands of themJust read any book on source criticism@NortiusMaximus
@Speedyman
see a document from 125 AD. There are literally thousands of them.
So? That doesn't prove the Jesus of the bible actually existed, much less that he was "the son of god". More and more scholars are reaching the conclusion that Jesus, as a person, never existed.
Speedyman · 70-79, M
Go to the Rylands library in Manchester and you can see a document from 125AD. Can I just say your statement about scholars is completely ignorant and that is being kind to you. No reputable scholar ever says that because they would be laughed out of court. Even someone like Richard Dawkins admits that Jesus existed. You might just as well say that Julius Caesar never existed@NortiusMaximus

Sorry mate but you are the ignorant one if you call me ignorant for quoting historical facts. Go back to school@BigBrotherFan
@Speedyman More abuse. Is that all you're capable of?
Speedyman · 70-79, M
Not abuse at all it’s just facts. The problem is that you answer your own question in the atheists look on contradiction to their deluded world as abuse while they think of abusing theists as fair game. The fact is that people like you don’t want the truth. The comment the gentleman made was ignorant so I just told him so especially as he called me ignorant for making an informed comment@NortiusMaximus
