Drivel. The conclusion does not follow from the premise. The lack of trust in thinking applies just as much to Lewis's conclusion god must exist as to the atheist's conclusion that it does not.

Anyway, atheists don't disbelieve they simply withhold belief on the grounds of lack of proof. If you provide a rational atheist with proof they will believe.

On the other hand as Granny Weatherwax said on the subject of the gods:

Granny Weatherwax: I don't hold with paddlin' with the Occult. Once you start paddlin' with the Occult you start believing in Spirits, and when you start believing in Spirits you start believing in Demons, and then before you know where you are you're believing in gods. And then you're in trouble.
Nanny Ogg: But all them things exist.
Granny Weatherwax: That's no call to go around believing in them. It only encourages 'em.

Lewis seems to think that a god must necessarily be good. Experience suggests otherwise which brings to mind Vetinari's position on the gods:

"If there is any kind of supreme being, I told myself, it is up to all of us to become his moral superior."

And finally Richard Dawkins makes a good point on the subject of Christian objections to atheism:

“We are all atheists about most of the gods that humanity has ever believed in. Some of us just go one god further.”

Every time that a theist writes 'God' try replacing it with 'at least one god' or 'one or more gods'. The logic, what little there is, remains the same but you'll have a hard time convincing adherents of the Abrahamic religions that if their arguments were valid that they would justify belief in Kali, Odin, Zeus, etc., just as much as their own brand.

@ninalanyon You don't think at all if the drivel you posted is your premise. Too Funny!!!!

You say a logical statement by a former atheist is drivel and then you go and post a whole load of absolute nonsense. Just proves my point. Atheists rely on drivel to establish their point@ninalanyon
