Can atheists benefit from Bible principles even though they don't believe in God?

Depends on which principles.

@seotelkniwt Sounds like good ol' American Puritanism: The deep-seated fear that somewhere, someone, somehow is having a good time.
@ChipmunkErnie That's a negative viewpoint to have about such positive principles and advice.

@seotelkniwt Yup -- I read a lot of history.

I knew an Atheist in the army who kept a copy of the Ten Commandments in his wall locker. He said,"Regardless of whether you believed in a supreme being or not, they were pretty good rules to live by."
@qwe05 thank you for sharing that experience
Sure, depending on the principles. I agree with helping the poor.
@BohemianBabe Absolutely, nice answer. Also, having principled love and practicing kindness toward our fellow man are good Bible principle for atheists and others to live by.

of course, more the same for the Gita and Talmud and the I Ching too...
I think so. Like do unto others...
@Spoiledbrat Yes absolutely. We want to treat others like you want to be treated with kindness, love and respect. (Matthew 7:12, Luke 6:31)

Anyone can 'benefit' from bible principles, you just have to find the right one to support your belief.

What perhaps we should be asking is - is this ethical ?

Should we believe in "an eye for an eye", or " rejoice when we see vengence"?

Too many quotes in the bible contradict one another. I feel it is confusing and can be ill used to justify ill actions.
@OogieBoogie When you understand the reasons and principles behind the quotes you mentioned in your reply, you will see why such actions in the Bible were needed. Those quotes were taken from the Mosaic Law. When Jesus came along, he "edited" so to speak Deuteronomy 19:21 when he said the words at Matthew 5:38-48. Please read those verses in your spare time.
@seotelkniwt Thankyou, but ive moved on from traditional Christianity now. Its served its purpose in my life, and im grateful for that, but ....its not... enough ? Some how🤷‍♀️
I feel there is an inate disparity between God of the OT, and Jesus of the NT, and that there is a huge chunk of history or truth missing, that would redefine what we currently know.

And i think echos of that truth can be found in other places such as ancient texts, other religions amd places that God left his mark for mankind.

🙏
@OogieBoogie You have many understandable views and much to address. I will get back with you tomorrow ❤️
