Unweaving the Rainbow is my personal favorite science book.

One of my favourite joys is watching Dawkins in debates and listening to his oratory! He has definitely influenced me greatly.

@JimboSaturn Right on. I've heard that similar sentiment over and over from those who've changed their thinking. Liberating and free. I don't see how that can't deliver confidence and comfort to people in many areas of their lives. Break those shackles and life can get a lot easier. I've never had belief but I have an idea of the pressures on those who push religion to the side. It takes some strength. Kudos.

@Ynotisay Thanks! Some people just can't understand that not believing in an afterlife could make me happier but it does. It did feel like a kind of "coming out of the closet" kind of experience. Many in my family are very religious and don't look kindly on atheists.

@JimboSaturn Yeah. Navigating the waters of believers is, from my understanding, one of the most difficult things and something that can keep people in a place where they feel they need to lie. And that can be extra hard for non-believers because the lying part isn't in line with the thinking.
There's a reason atheists are looked down on the way they are. And what's interesting about is that if just go by character it's totally unfounded. Having enemies is a big part of it for a lot of religious people. For a reason. And what enemy is more clear than one who doesn't believe in any of yet. People breaking free can really struggle with that. They can lose friends and family. It's a conflict that shouldn't exist but it does.
I think he will be best remembered for hosting a television game show

The man who thought downs babies should be aborted
I did a post on this once, if you check my profile you will find it
JimboSaturn · 51-55, M
@TheWildEcho He said "it's not immoral" to abort a down syndrome child, he didn't say they should all be aborted.
